January 2016 Newsletter

Happy New Year! The teachers and I are so thankful for the gifts & wishes you blessed us with this Christmas.

I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday break with their families. I am so excited to get started on our 2016 recital season! I would like to extend a welcome to the students in our new 3 & 4 year old class on Wednesdays from 5-5:45pm.

RECITAL 2016: Save the date! This year we will have dress rehearsal WEDNESDAY JUNE 8 in the evening and our show day will be THURSDAY JUNE 9. We will have both of these dates either at Belleville EAST or WEST campus and will let you know when we are notified. PICTURES will be held at the studio this year on a different day than dress rehearsal, and will be announced when we have costume ship date information.

2015 THEMES:

  • Older Students: Our older students will be putting on a production of Annie! This is a great story of learning optimism, friendship, and trust.
  • Younger Students: Our youngest students will be putting on a show using the music from Mickey Mouse shows, movies, etc. This will be a fun show with adorable costumes and routines. The theme for the show is titled “A Mickey Mouse Showcase”.

COSTUME FEE: If your dancer is participating in either of our themed shows, they will have a $65 costume fee due January 10. All acro classes, pointe, and poms have an additional $65 due per dance they are in. For those of you in our Annie and Mickey Mouse Showcase shows, your dancer will wear the same costume for every dance (ballet & tap or ballet, tap, & jazz)—which saves quite a bit of money! Anyone doing a solo, duet, or trio also needs to pay a $65/fee for their routine(s).There is a $20 late fee tacked on per costume payment that is late.

PARKING: Please note the reserved spot on the far right side in our lot. This is a spot for the tenants that live above the studio. Thanks!

PAYMENT: Don’t forget-payment is due by the 10th of each month! Please include your $15 late fee if you pay after that date. Thanks!

BAD WEATHER POLICY: In the event of bad weather (snow, ice, tornadoes, etc.) we will change the voicemail on the studio phone by 2PM to confirm closing along with updating the studio Facebook page. If possible we will also send out an email and update our website letting you know if the studio is closed. If bad weather is to occur during studio hours rather than the daytime, please call the studio to confirm if we will stay open the remainder of the night before coming to class. Missed lessons due to the weather cancellations can be made up in a similar class and do not count against your perfect attendance records.

DRESS CODE: PLEASE send your dancer with their hair UP and away from their face! This goes for hair of all LENGTHS (bangs/short hair is often pushed back throughout class). Also, it’s chilly outside now—finally! Please send your dancer in seasonal dance clothes—long sleeved leotards, full tights, and if needed a wrap sweater or cardigan for the little ones. NO jackets, sweatpants, or baggy clothing
